Actress and beauty queen Winwyn Márquez finally completed her Basic Citizen Military Training at the Naval Reserve Center-National Capital Region amid the pandemic.
Marquez, who graduated as a senior cadet and president of Batch Dakila, shared the news of her milestone via Instagram yesterday, November 22.
“Last February, I enlisted to become a Navy Reservist under the Philippine Naval Reserve Command. [and] When COVID-19 hit us they asked us if we still wanted to continue with our training and I said YES, ”he recalled.
“During these difficult times, attending this reservist training (which I religiously attended all classroom lectures, drills and even joined the 3-day field training exercise at Cavite as the culmination of our training course) has been become one of my motivations to continue. keep going and continue serving others despite limitations and uncertainties, ”added Márquez.
The actress’s post was accompanied by multiple photos showing her in uniform, giving fans a glimpse of her in training.
Márquez noted that she is honored to be “one of the small number of women” who has joined the course “as it matches my passion to encourage and empower our Filipino women.”
“Training was not an easy task as it was expected that I would experience difficulties like everyone else, without special treatment or privileges,” added Márquez.
She also emphasized that she was not seen as “Márquez, the actress and beauty queen”, but as cadet Márquez, a Filipino companion and my sister. [batchmates]. “
Márquez then expressed her gratitude to her groupmates, family and friends as she “completed the course with accomplishments I never thought I would learn and also a new group of classmates turned into family.”
The actress said that she is sharing her achievement with the public in the hope that “it could be a motivation [and] inspiration not only for Filipino women, but for all Filipinos so that they are not afraid of their weaknesses and pursue their passions in life.
