MANILA, Philippines – The commander of the Presidential Security Group (PSG), Colonel Jesús Durante III, revealed on Wednesday that members of President Rodrigo Duterte’s security detachment administered the COVID-19 vaccine to each other, without the help of a medical professional. .

The Secretary of the Interior and Local Government, Eduardo Año, previously confirmed that a member of the Cabinet and several members of the PSG have received the COVID-19 vaccine.
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA), however, said no vaccine has yet been approved for official use, adding that it is illegal to import, distribute, and for a doctor or medical professional to administer drugs not registered in the country.
