Officials in Maricopa County, which includes Phoenix and where many votes are not yet counted, released a new batch of results around 9 p.m. ET Thursday, showing Trump narrowing the gap slightly.
Maricopa County will release its next report on Friday at 11 am ET. Officials said they had 204,000 earlier ballots to process, and fewer provisional and other ballots.
Georgia
Trump was ahead in Georgia by about 1,800 votes with 98 percent of the estimated votes counted. Biden has been closing the gap and the uncounted ballots are mostly in Democratic areas. The race could end close enough for a recount.
Election officials in Georgia said they would continue to count votes until Thursday night.
The state could have been called in by now if it weren’t for a broken pipe at a site in Fulton County where elections officials were counting absentee ballots, delaying the counting process in and around Atlanta.
Nevada
Biden has a small lead in Nevada, about 11,000 votes, and widened it slightly after more results were released Thursday. The contest is much closer than experts expected, and ballots received by mail will be accepted by the state through Nov. 10 as long as they are postmarked by Election Day.
The next batch of results is expected to be announced around noon Eastern on Friday.
North Carolina
Trump is far ahead in North Carolina with 95 percent of the estimated votes counted. But North Carolina will accept mail-in ballots that arrive through November 12, and the race may not be called until then.
Pennsylvania
Biden is now behind Trump by about 42,000 votes in Pennsylvania, and has been steadily gaining traction thanks to newly counted votes in the state’s major metropolitan areas, primarily in the Philadelphia area, but also in Pittsburgh. The vote count is continually updated.
The Trump campaign is also fiercely challenging Pennsylvania’s ballots in court, which could delay the process.
