MANILA, Philippines – Viral vlogger Lloyd Cafe Cadena was infected with the latest strain of coronavirus before suffering a fatal heart attack, family members confirmed Sunday night.
According to a post on the vlogger’s Facebook page, Cadena was admitted to a hospital on September 1 after having a high fever and a dry cough, both symptoms of COVID-19.
A swab test was done on September 3, the results of which were positive. During that time, his vital signs were supposedly normal, with no cause for concern.
“There are simply no words to express our sincere appreciation for the prayers and condolences that have been extended to our family during this time of loss,” said the statement on Cadena’s page.
Lloyd was admitted to the hospital on September 1 due to a high fever and a dry cough. You were tested for COVID-19 on the same day that the result was positive on September 3. As soon as the swab test result came out, our family, including BNT, was immediately isolated, “he added.
However, hospital staff saw Cadena “unanswered and pale” at 5:00 am on September 4, a few hours after the test results came out. Doctors later confirmed that the vlogger suffered a heart attack in his sleep.
The publication added that Cadena’s remains were cremated on Saturday and his ashes were at the Cavite family home.
“All expressions of sympathy, including flowers and cards, are welcome. You can send them to our address at # 14 Scarah, Kaingin Rd., Brgy. Sto. Child, city of Parañaque ”, said the publication.
Cadena’s death was announced last Friday. She was 26 years old.
As a vlogger, Cadena gained popularity through his self-made comedy videos. Eventually, his talent was recognized and he landed several jobs as a presenter and stints as a radio athlete.
