Fight fans have been eagerly awaiting the UFC lightweight title unification fight between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Justin Gaethje. Nurmagomedov is the 155-pound champion, while Gaethje has interim gold. The two will share the Octagon at the UFC 254 Main Event within the Flash Forum on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi.
Nurmagomedov is undefeated in his professional MMA career so far. “The Eagle” is 28-0 in his professional MMA career, but some believe Gaethje may be the one to solve the puzzle. Those who believe that Gaethje has what it takes to dethrone Nurmagomedov point to the standing skills and takedown defense of “The Highlight.”
We won’t have to wait much longer to find out who will get away with it. UFC 254 will take place this Saturday, October 24.
Also for the UFC 254 card there will be a middleweight clash. Former UFC Middleweight Champion Robert Whittaker will face Jared Cannonier. UFC President Dana White has said that if Cannonier wins this fight, then he will have a shot at Israel Adesanya for the 185-pound gold.
