MANILA, Philippines – On Sunday, Vice President Leni Robredo visited and reached out to displaced residents of Cagayan, which suffered massive flooding due to Typhoon Ulysses.

In a Twitter post, Robredo said the situation in the province is “much better.”

“We arrived in Cagayan this morning. Our team arrived a few hours early with supplies. The situation is much better. Many areas were still flooded, but the water has already receded, ”he said.

Cagayan is in a state of calamity due to the flood, which was caused by the release of water from the Magat dam and the great sedimentation of the water courses.

Nine flood-related deaths so far they have been reported in Cagayan.
