UAAP board wants sanctions for Aldin Ayo for UST bubble training

ALDIN Ayo will be under the microscope, as the Board of Directors of the UAAP (BMD) recommended that the coach of the University of Santo Tomas be investigated for the team’s bubble training in Sorsogon.

Spin.ph Sources confirmed that in the eyes of the athletic directors of eight member schools, it is the controversial coach who should be held accountable for training that clearly violated health protocols during the pandemic.

The board reached consensus after tedious deliberation at its meeting Thursday afternoon.

However, the sanctions remain unclear, as it will be up to the Board, made up of university rectors, to decide on the sanctions.

Subsequently, the UAAP board issued a statement in which it said that it had presented recommendations to the university rectors for them to “review when approved” without mentioning what they were.

However, sources said the board has directly blamed Ayo, who, according to naked sources, hosted the entire team at his gym in Sorsogon.

At the time of publication, rumors circulated that Ayo had already submitted her resignation, all unconfirmed.

The Board of Managing Directors (BMD) of the Philippine University Athletic Association (UAAP) met on Thursday, September 3 to discuss the report presented by the University of Santo Tomas on the allegations regarding its basketball training activities during the quarantine.

The discussion covered compliance with the guidelines and protocols issued by the government on conducting school and sports activities during community quarantine.

After a lengthy discussion, the UAAP BMD drafted its recommendations, which will be sent to the UAAP Board of Directors for review and approval.
