Two minutes from Meghan Markle’s real life that were a “turning point” before she quit smoking

Meghan Markle’s real life was far from easy, with critical headlines, nasty comments from online trolls, and hurtful interviews by distant family members, part of her day to day.

After just two years, she decided to turn her back on the limelight and, along with her husband, Prince Harry, withdrew from her duties.

Many experts have tried to determine when the couple decided enough was enough, but one believes that there was one commitment in particular that was a true “turning point”.

Christine Ross, editor of the blog Meghan’s Mirror, believes we saw a new side of the royal couple on the first day of their South African tour.

Shortly before leaving a township in Cape Town, the couple were stopped by a group of artists and started dancing with them, and the informal and fun moment became a highlight of the tour.

The couple seemed completely at ease

Speaking on the actual Mirror Mirror Pod Save the Queen podcast, he said: “I was dancing with the kids and it was such a stark contrast to some of the events we had seen before their pregnancy.

“She is in this very affordable dress, she is in affordable wedges, her hair is in a ponytail, she is dancing with children.

“We didn’t know then what we know now, but I think that moment and that look was a turning point in their roles, as these high-glamor royals were no longer going to be.”

“They wanted to be more down-to-earth, with people, dancing with the kids, hanging out with the crowd.”

Meghan’s dress was very different from traditional ‘royal style’

Meghan wore a stunning Mayamiko black and white wrap dress for a visit to an organization promoting women’s empowerment in Cape Town.

The £ 69 print dress was from Mayamiko, a sustainable brand from Malawi.

Christine said: “I love that wrap dress because it is not a true color. Meghan wears bright colors, but her signature style and personal style is more monotonic – it’s black, it’s white, it’s gray, it’s deep navy.

They spent a lot of time talking to people from different organizations.

“This was still her distinctive color palette: she looked so incredibly beautiful that she still showed a very normal postpartum body that so many women around the world appreciated and that outfit for me, especially as it marked the beginning of the tour, was a turning point with her relationship to her role as duchess. “

Meghan and Harry surprised fans around the world when they announced their decision to resign in January.

They reportedly did not consult the rest of the royal family about their decision, which experts say caused anger and annoyance behind the palace walls.

They spent the following weeks working in logistics with the Queen and royal aids, before officially resigning on March 31.

The couple left the UK and moved to Canada, but have now settled in Los Angeles with their son Archie, just in the way of Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland.
