Twitter Inc and Facebook Inc will transfer control of the @POTUS account to Joe Biden’s administration on January 20, the social media companies said on Saturday.
The @POTUS account on both platforms is the official account of the President of the United States. It is separate from the @realDonaldTrump Twitter account and the @DonaldTrump Facebook page that the President of the United States, Donald Trump, uses primarily to write his posts.

Politico previously reported that the @POTUS Twitter handle handover does not require information sharing between Trump’s outgoing team and Biden’s incoming team.
He also reported that Twitter will meet with Biden transition officials and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris in the coming months to discuss the details of how the new administration will use Twitter.
Biden, who has hit the two-week mark since he became president-elect, is preparing to take office on January 20, but Trump has refused to budge and is seeking to invalidate or overturn the results through lawsuits and counts in various states. , alleging, without proof, widespread electoral fraud.
