The country’s love of the game takes center stage this October when Philippine Basketball Association games return live on TV5, One Sports and in high definition on PBA Rush on Cignal TV. TV5 and Cignal TV are proud partners of the PBA, which acts as a pioneer in bringing back live local sporting events, and paves the way for other local sports leagues to resume play given the ‘new normal’, delighting generations of their faithful followers. During the start of the league’s 45th season last March, the ‘Tayo Ang Bida’ campaign emphasized fans and those working behind the scenes as the true MVPs, inspiring an in-depth look at the PBA, going beyond the Stellar power from iconic teams, renowned players and coaches, and giving prominence to the team and avid fans that make games more meaningful and enjoyable. The meaning of “Tayo Ang Bida” has evolved since then given the current health pandemic. With the resumption of the PBA, he now also aims to inspire hope, positivity and camaraderie through sport. Driven by the bravery displayed by leaders, regarded as today’s modern heroes, the league pays tribute to the real-life ‘Bida’s’ who have been the main agents of basketball’s resurgence in the pandemic and those who have given a immeasurable contribution to the country. “Just when the PBA was gaining momentum, the world stopped. Yet in the midst of a pandemic, we do our best to be heroic, because we, the PBA community, are not just players, coaches, staff, or fans. We are also families who hold on to each other out of love and friends who continue to support each other, ”said Robert P. Galang, President and CEO of Cignal TV and TV5. “By bringing PBA games back live through our various platforms on Cignal TV and TV5, we help bring the PBA message of inspiration, hope and resilience, and the highest quality basketball entertainment to the country, “he added. The PBA aims to be a source of entertainment and a symbol of inspiration and hope in these unprecedented times. With that, various PBA Bubble content will be released daily in addition to live games across television, digital, and various news platforms. Exclusive daily updates from inside the bubble and messages from some of the best players will be available online so people can get a glimpse of the lives of their favorite teams and players inside the bubble. In addition to this, it has created new opportunities that allow the audience to feel as if they are watching the game live in the arena. Fans will be present at the game virtually through a virtual wall on an LED screen, giving players on the court the opportunity to see and hear the fans live. All games will be played in the University of Angeles Foundation gym in Pampanga, adjacent to Clark Freeport. Various teams began entering the PBA bubble on September 28 with daily games starting on October 11. A single round elimination format will follow followed by the quarterfinals (Top 4 twice to beat), then the best of 5 finals semifinal, and finally the best of seven finals for the top two teams to determine the winner of this conference. The first game will air at 4:00 pm and the second game at 6:45 pm. Fans can watch the games live every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday on TV5. You can also tune in daily (Monday to Sunday) One Sports and PBA Rush. The games are also available live via Facebook and YouTube, Radyo5 and Cignal Play live streaming, ensuring that PBA fans don’t miss out on any of the PBA action, wherever they are.
