President-elect Biden will formally announce key members of his White House staff on Tuesday, tapping Representative Cedric L. Richmond of Louisiana to oversee the public outreach and installation Jen O’Malley Dillon, who successfully ran his presidential campaign, as deputy chief of staff, said a person familiar with the transition.
Biden will also announce that Steve RicchettiA longtime confidant, he will serve in the White House as an advisor to the president.
Richmond, a Louisiana Democrat who served as Biden’s national campaign co-chair and was an early supporter, scheduled a press conference for Tuesday in which he is expected to announce his departure from Congress.
O’Malley Dillon, a veteran of former President Barack Obama’s campaigns, is credited with leading Biden’s presidential candidacy through the hardships of the pandemic and the challenges of facing an unpredictable rival like President Trump.
Ricchetti is a close adviser and longtime lobbyist who has been by Biden’s side for years. He lobbied for the pharmaceutical industry and served as chief of staff when Biden was vice president.
