Donald Trump has caused confusion after announcing three times on Twitter that there will be a “big press conference” at the office of a small landscaping company in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Lawyers Press Conference at Four Seasons, Philadelphia. 11:00 am, ”the US President initially tweeted late Saturday morning, apparently referring to the four-star hotel in the city center.
But Trump quickly corrected his mistake, following the first tweet by writing, “Four Season’s Landscaping!”, And then another that read: “Great press conference in Philadelphia today at Four Seasons Total Landscaping – 11:30 am!”
Minutes later, he sent out a fourth tweet, saying, “Attorney’s press conference at Four Season’s Landscaping, Philadelphia. Enjoy!”
An online search shows that Four Seasons Total Landscaping is a local landscaping business on the outskirts of Philadelphia that was established in 1992.
It’s unclear why the Trump campaign is holding a press conference there, but it comes amid efforts by Trump and his advocates to question an election he is about to lose to Joe Biden.
In Pennsylvania, the final count of state elections has yet to be announced due to delays in vote counting following an increase in mail-in ballots amid the coronavirus pandemic.
If the Democratic candidate, Mr. Biden, wins the state, as expected, he will have accumulated more than the 270 electoral seats necessary to win the presidency.
Trump’s announcement that a major election press conference would be held at a small landscaping company rather than a large hotel caused confusion among journalists.
“I just arrived at the site of the big press conference announced by President Trump,” Sky News’s Mark Stone tweeted.
“A little surreal location … not the Four Seasons Hotel, but a landscaping business on an industrial estate outside of Philadelphia.”
Jeremy Roebuck, reporter for The Philadelphia Inquirer, tweeted: “There is a big difference between the place first announced, the Four Seasons hotel in Center City, and what quickly changed to … this building with a similar name in the northeast.
Shortly after making the announcement of the press conference, Trump falsely tweeted: “I WON THIS ELECTION, BY FAR!”
In fact, it seems almost certain that Trump will lose the election and will have lost the popular vote by more than 4 million votes once the count ends.
