Tropical depression approaching PH will likely affect areas affected by Quinta once it makes landfall

MANILA, Philippines – Areas still reeling from the fury of Typhoon Quinta (international name Molave) will see more rain once the tropical depression currently outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) makes landfall in the Bicol region. or Eastern Visayas.

According to the state meteorological office bulletin issued at 5 p.m. Tuesday, the tropical depression was still over the Pacific Ocean. – about 2,125 kilometers east of central Luzon, with maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour (kph) and gusts of up to 55 kph.

It is moving in a north-northwest direction at a speed of 15 kph, but follow-up predictions from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) showed that it could begin to drift to the southwest on Wednesday afternoon and continue his track when he enters the PAR on Thursday afternoon.

And despite various possibilities, Pagasa believes that the still unnamed climate alteration could make landfall in the Bicol or eastern Visayas region next weekend.

As the tropical depression moves into the Philippine Sea, Pagasa said it is expected to pick up steam into a tropical storm by Saturday, Oct. 31, and then into a severe tropical storm before making landfall. Pagasa also said it is negotiating a pattern similar to Quinta’s, which will likely cross the seas from southern Luzon to the western Philippine Sea.

But for now, Pagasa said, the tropical depression has yet to have any effect on the country’s climate systems. He said parts of Luzon, including Central Luzon, South Luzon, Bicol Region and Metro Manila, are forecast to experience a gradual warming of the climate.

According to Pagasa, Metro Manila and Tuguegarao will have temperatures that will oscillate between 25° C up to 32° C on Wednesday while Legazpi will feel it between 25° C and 33° C.

The same conditions will apply to Visayas and Mindanao, Pagasa said, with the exception, however, of the Zamboanga peninsula, as it can still be affected by the Quinta’s trough and cloud bands.

In Cebu, temperatures are forecast to be around 25° C up to 32° C on Wednesday while it can range from 25° C up to 33° C in Iloilo, Tacloban and Davao.

Meanwhile, Pagasa maintained its gale warning over the entire western coast of Luzon. from the Ilocos region, central Luzon, to southern Luzon and Palawan; plus the areas of northern Luzon and the eastern seas of Cagayan.

This means that small boats in these areas cannot navigate because the sea conditions will be rough or rough.
