Toyota introduces the new Fortuner

Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) has just released the highly anticipated update to its best-selling and best-loved sport utility vehicle, the new Fortuner.

TMP’s latest offering is led by the new LTD variant in 4 × 4 and 4 × 2 that comes with an exclusive design, followed by the Q and V variants in automatic transmission, and the G variant that is available in AT and MT.

The design of the new Fortuner LTD variant is made more eye-catching and elegant with its 2-tone black roof color line. It also features a sportier front and rear bumper design, 18 ”machine cut alloy wheels, LED split-type headlights and LED front fog lamps, sequential turn signals and redesigned LED taillights, which give the LTD variant a more dynamic design.

The Q and V variants also have redesigned LED fog lamps and LED taillights, as well as LED Bi-Beam headlights with LED line guidance – daytime running lights. The G variants now also come with Bi-Beam LED headlights with LED DRLs.

Fortuner’s new LTD and Q variants are powered by the 1GD-FTV engine that produces a maximum output of 201 hp (204 Ps) and a maximum torque of 500 Nm, while the V and G variants have the 2GD-FTV engine that produces 147 HP (150Ps)) maximum output and maximum torque of 400 Nm.

The LTD variant features a stylish leather interior with maroon accents, as well as galaxy black trim and interior lighting. Meanwhile, the Q variant also gets the sleek black leather interior complemented by a dark wood trim. The LTD, Q and V trims on the new Fortuner come with a push start system and smart entry.

The LTD and Q variants have 8-way power-adjustable front seats, while the top-tier variant comes with a front seat ventilation system and JBL 9-speaker sound system. The wireless charger and rear USB chargers are available in LTD, Q and V grades.

The new Fortuner is also equipped with Toyota Safety Sense. This safety feature, previously featured on select Toyota models, such as the Pre-Collision System, Lane Departure Warning and Adaptive Cruise Control, is now available for Fortuner LTD and Q.

All variants of the new Fortuner come with SRS airbags (7 for LTD variants), 3 points. ELR seat belts, anti-lock braking system with brake assist and electronic brake force distribution, vehicle stability control with traction control and hill start assist control. The LTD 4 × 4 variant also has Downhill Assist Control.

The entire lineup also comes with a total of six offset and reverse probes, plus the wide-view monitor that comes with the LTD, Q, and V variants or reversing camera for the G variants.

The New Fortuner will be available at all 70 TMP dealerships nationwide beginning October 19, 2020.
