On the night of the NBA Draft, the Golden State Warriors received word that Klay Thompson suffered a lower leg injury. After learning that he would be missing another season, the team made no move to improve the perimeter around Stephen Curry. His loss is proving huge from the start.

The Warriors have struggled early this season in all respects. Stephen Curry doesn’t look like himself from three-point territory, which has made a big impact on the team. This is because they have no weapons around Curry for rival defenses to worry about. Players like Andrew Wiggins and Kelly Oubre Jr. are capable NBA players, but they don’t have the skill set that Thompson has.

If Golden State wants to make a splash, they should take a look at the Philadelphia 76ers. Early in the offseason, Philadelphia hired Doc Rivers as its new head coach and Daryl Morey in the front office. They were both adamant about not trading Joel Embiid or Ben Simmons.

This does not mean that they would not think about it if the right package is offered to them. Golden State would have to pay, but it would be worth it to get their team back to championship level.

This style of play is something Golden State is not used to in recent years. Here’s a potential trade with Philadelphia that could allow them more impact players on offense.
