The water level of the Marikina river rises to 21.5 meters, the third alarm goes up

MANILA, Philippines – The water level of the Marikina River rose to more than 21 meters due to Typhoon Ulysses, which prompted the city government to raise the third alarm Thursday morning.

At 7:30 am, the water level of the Marikina River was at 21.5 meters, the city government said in a post on social media.

The third alarm, however, occurred hours earlier, when the water level rose to more than 18 meters.

“The water level of the Marikina River is 18 meters at 3:18 am, third alarm,” the Marikina Public Information Office said in an earlier statement.
