Filipina-Japanese Yuki Sonada could only be grateful to have secured second place in the final of the recently concluded Miss Universe Japan 2020.
On Instagram, she thanked the fans who supported her during her trip.
Words cannot express how grateful I am for all of your support, help, trust, patience and love. Without you guys, I wouldn’t get this job, ”he wrote.
Yuki also thanked the people who gave her the opportunity to show her growth, as well as Miss Universe Japan 2008 and Miss Universe Japan National Director Hiroko Mima, who inspired her to join the beauty pageant.
“You made me blossom into a new woman, much more empowered,” she recounted.
Yuki, previously joined other beauty pageants in Japan, including Miss World Japan 2015 and Miss Supranational Japan 2016.
The newly crowned Miss Universe Japan 2020 is Aisha Harumi Tochigi.
Yuki noted how the latter, whom he described as one of his “best friends” in the contest, “deserves” the crown.
“I know you will shine,” he said.
