MANILA, Philippines – The Supreme Court en banc approved the schedule for the next bar exam, which is November 2021.
“With the approval of the Court En Banc, the next bar exam will take place [in] November 2021 ”, Bar Association Bulletin No. 13 signed by Associate Judge Marvic Leonen, Chairman of the 2020 Bar Examination Committee.
But the exam periods and locations will be announced in a separate Lawyer Bulletin.
Head of Public Information and Spokesperson for the Superior Court. Brian Keith Hosaka said that November 2021 is the earliest bar exam schedule.
Regarding the chairmanship of the Lawyers Committee, he said: “As far as the November 2021 Bar Association is concerned, it is Judge Leonen.”
“Anyone who is qualified to take the bar exams in November 2021 will be able to take it regardless of the year they graduated,” he said.
Hosaka said they expect the number of applicants to double.
“Yes [the number of applicants could increase] as presumably two groups of law school graduates will be qualified to take the Bar, ”Hosaka said.
The 2020 bar review was postponed by the Supreme Court due to the increasing number of COVID-19 cases in the country, its social and economic effects, and strict community quarantine. [ac]
