MANILA, Philippines – Sony is giving away Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection and Travel free on PS4 from April 15 to May 5.

The gifts are part of Sony’s new Play At Home Initiative, the PlayStation brand’s contribution to the coronavirus crisis. Part of the program is also a newly established relief fund for smaller independent game developers who may have financial problems over time.

Play At Home has two components: first, providing free games to help keep the PlayStation community entertained at home; and finally, establish a fund to help smaller independent game studios that may be experiencing financial difficulties continue to build great experiences for all gamers, “says Sony Interactive Entertainment President Jim Ryan on the PlayStation blog.

The games will be available through digital downloads and are there for players to keep once downloaded. Depending on how Ryan described the initiative, additional free games may continue to be offered in the future.

Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection is a collection of three games in the Uncharted series that includes Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, Uncharted 2: Among Thievesand Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception. Travel is an independent adventure game originally released in 2012 on the PS3 before seeing a 2015 release on the PS4.

Ryan also cautioned that game downloads may be slightly slower: “In alignment with SIE’s goal of preserving Internet access in the US. USA And Europe, game downloads may take a little longer, but we appreciate our community’s understanding of taking these steps in an effort to preserve access for all. ”

The independent developer funding is worth $ 10 million, with details including who is next eligible.

“During these days of physical estrangement, fans have turned to the game for moments of rest and fun. At Sony Interactive Entertainment, we are privileged to offer this much-needed entertainment. We know this is only a small step and we are grateful to be able to offer this support to our players, our communities and our partners, ”said Ryan. – Rappler.com
