MANILA – The Nagtahan flyover in Manila will be banned for trucks and trailers from February 20, the Manila Metropolitan Development Authority (MMDA) said.

In a statement, the MMDA said that only light vehicles will be allowed to pass the overpass, as recommended by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

According to DPWH, several cracks were found in the concrete pedestal of the steel railing of the overpass, so trucks and trailers are advised to use alternate routes to avoid adverse incidents.

HGVs heading south are advised to take Earnshaw Street, Legarda Street, Ayala Street, P. Burgos Street to Roxas Boulevard, while HGVs heading north can take Quirino Avenue to Roxas Boulevard and Quirino Avenue Extension to United Nations Avenue to Roxas Boulevard.

The Nagtahan overpass is included in the DPWH list of Metro Manila bridges that need to be repaired.
