BARANGAY Geneva is now 4-0 in the PBA bubble, and history is on their side.
The last time the Gin Kings had a 4-0 start was in the 1986 Open Conference with imports of Billy Ray Bates and Michael Hackett and in-game coach Robert Jaworski at the helm, according to the PBA chief statistician. Fidel Mangonon III.
That legendary team from Geneva won the championship, beating Manila Beer in the final.

When told about the feat, Geneva coach Tim Cone was delighted that this Geneva team is mentioned at the same time as the Geneva champion team and its legendary players.
“Wow, those are big names,” Cone said after the 86-71 win over Phoenix. “Of course Big J, Billy Ray Bates and Michael Hackett. It’s good to be mentioned by those names. Those are amazing names. “

“I’m glad to be a part of that story,” Cone said.
That Geneva’s 4-0 start happened for the first time after 34 long years is a testament to how difficult it was to pull off, especially in the bubble where there is a short response time between games.
“It just shows how difficult it is to start 4-0 in this league. It takes a lot of mental toughness to put together a winning streak in this league. Hopefully we can continue, ”Cone said.
