‘The Beast’ in primetime as PBA cancels TNT-NorthPort game

The PBA canceled Monday night’s game between TNT and NorthPort despite news that the Blackwater player who initially tested positive for COVID-19 tested negative on his recent tests.

Opting for a safer approach, the league decided to suspend the TNT-NorthPort game scheduled for 6:45 pm at the University of Angeles Foundation Sports and Cultural Center.

The first game between Phoenix Super LPG and NLEX was moved from 4 pm to 6:45 pm for the PBA to take advantage of prime time vacated by the cancellation of TNT-NorthPort.

Blackwater played TNT last Thursday, days before they were told that one of their players tested positive for COVID-19.

The unnamed cage was immediately quarantined at the Layered Athletes’ Village, Tarlac, before the latest antigen and RT-PCR tests came back negative.

The situation forced the PBA to cancel Sunday’s game between Blackwater and Rain or Shine, while TNT quickly isolated itself before testing negative for the antigen.
