Ten dead in Cagayan province after Ulises attack

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, November 15) – At least 10 people died in the flood-affected province of Cagayan after Typhoon Ulysses (international name: Vamco) struck, their local government reported Sunday.

On its Facebook page, the Cagayan Provincial Information Office said seven people were injured after the massive floods caused by Ulises’ anger.

More than 294,000 people were affected in 26 municipalities throughout the province, the LGU also noted.

Cagayan has soared to top trending topics on social media in recent days as netizens asked for help from residents trapped in their flooded homes. Since then, the province has been in a state of calamity.

The latest data from the National Council for Risk Reduction and Management showed that at least 22 people died in the Cagayan Valley as a result of the typhoon. Meanwhile, the death toll across the country has risen to 69, according to NDRRMC.
