MANILA, Philippines – Although Tropical Depression Vicky has already left the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), the tropical wind cyclone No. 1 signal remains hoisted over the Kalayaan Islands through Sunday afternoon.
In its weather bulletin on Sunday afternoon, December 20, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) reported that Vicky was 70 kilometers southeast of Pagasa Island in Palawan.
It has maximum sustained winds of 55 kph near the center and gusts up to 70 kph. It is moving west at 15 km / h.
Because of this, Pagasa said the Kalayaan Islands may still experience rain Sunday night.
Meanwhile, Pagasa said the southwest monsoon would continue to affect the northern Luzon area, while the cold front tail would persist in eastern central and southern Luzon.
In its severe weather bulletin, Pagasa said moderate to heavy and occasionally heavy rains are expected over the mainland Cagayan valley, Apayao, Kalinga, the mountain province, Ifugao, Aurora, Quezon, the Bicol region, the part northern Palawan, including the Calamian and Kalayaan Islands.
