MANILA, Philippines – The city of Taguig government has opened a coronavirus disease screening test center (COVID-19) in the global city of Bonifacio (BGC) for residents with vehicles that cannot be tested in hospitals and health centers.
The test drive site was opened Wednesday and is located in the northeast parking area in front of Kidzania, next to CitiBank and IBM One World Place.
On the first day of the test site, 10 suspected COVID-19 cases were tested, and each test took just five minutes, the city government said in a Facebook post.
“We are making the tests accessible to as many Taguigeños as we can. Testing is a very important part of a successful COVID-19 response. Save lives, ”said the mayor of the city of Taguig, Lino Cayetano.
Those who want to be tested through the drive-thru site should do the following:
- Call the COVID-19 hotline at 878-93200 or 0966-419-4510 where you will be evaluated by the City’s Disease and Epidemiology Surveillance Unit (CEDSU)
- The resident will receive a control number to be presented to the evaluation center; visit the Lakeshore test drive center or the BGC
- Present the digital copy of the control number to the receiving booth
- Proceed to the test area to get tested
- Receive the anti-COVID kit with monitoring sheet
- CEDSU will contact the resident to obtain results 3-5 days after the test
A person will be asked to go to the isolation area if they have COVID-19 symptoms such as fever. An ambulance will also be placed near the test site for hospitalization.
The Taguig city government said it has partnered with the Department of Health, the Tropical Medicine Research Institute, the St. Luke Medical Center at BGC and the Philippine Red Cross to ensure that samples can be analyzed more quickly.
The driving test initiative is part of the city government’s Massively Systematic Approach to Responsible Testing (SMART) program, which includes barangay-based tests, CEDSU test team visits, tests in public and private hospitals, and tests management.
“SMART is a framework that ensures everyone who needs to be tested,” Cayetano said.
