MANILA, Philippines – The Taguig city government on Friday expanded its social improvement packages totaling P456 million for other destitute and marginalized sections of the city that were not covered by the national government’s massive aid program.
On Saturday, Taguig Mayor Lino Cayetano also officiated the opening of the Lakeshore Hall quarantine facility in Lower Bicutan to address the lack of hospital facilities to accommodate patients.
Cayetano said the packages were above the city’s assistance programs. Under this new program, around 25,000 academics would receive P5,000 in aid.
Some 68,000 seniors and 12,000 people with disabilities would also receive P4,000, while 1,000 properly registered fishers, vendors, and farmers in the city would also receive P4,000.
