Suzuki saves Jimny by removing two seats from the European model

A light commercial vehicle, to be more precise, classified in the N1 category that is exempt from the fleet average CO2 emissions of 95 grams that the European Union is targeting from 2021. Any gram of carbon dioxide above of that value translates into a € 95 fine multiplied by the automaker’s total sales in Europe, a fine that would put Suzuki in a pretty tough financial position.
