Los Angeles Lakers vs. Denver Nuggets match preview
The Lakers have a 2-0 lead, but this could be where the Nuggets want them after trailing 3-1 in each of the previous two series. This was almost a 1-1 series, but Anthony Davis had other ideas. Los Angeles has been playing extremely well this postseason and the return of Rajon Rondo has helped in a big way. Denver will need to have someone other than Nikola Jokic or Jamal Murray. The Lakers were very foul prone in the last game, as they committed 30 fouls in Game 2. Denver was able to attack them from the rim, but that might not be the story in Game 3. It seems Denver blew their chance to equalize. the series when they threw the ball well and the Lakers lost more than 20 losses. This is concerning given that the Nuggets had a lot going for them and still lost the game. And it all comes down to more than Mason Plumlee reacting slowly on the last play in bounds.

Lakers analysis
Los Angeles is closing in on a 3-0 series lead and almost there for an appearance in the NBA Finals. The Lakers have struggled to allow teams to return to the series where the Nuggets have made their way in both. Defensively, the Lakers have played excellent basketball lately as they let Davis and James lead the offense with the occasional secondary help. The return of Rajon Rondo has taken a lot of pressure off this Lakers team, as he may be an option to handle the ball.
We know what we’re going to get from this Lakers team and it’s over 20 shot attempts from the big two and we’re hoping Danny Green or KCP can make some shots. Caruso and Rondo have been the best names from the bench and Howard has been another body to pitch to Jokic and some of the Nuggets greats.
Denver Nuggets starting 5
PG: Jamal Murray
SG: Gary Harris
SF: Jerami Scholarship
PF: Paul Millsap
C: Nikola Jokic
Nugget analysis
The Nuggets will need a monster set from Jokic or Murray, or get quality minutes from secondary options. Will Barton’s absence continues to haunt them in this series as they really need another option and this would push Jerami Grant back off the bench. Game 2 was a tough loss to accept as they were beaten in Game 1. Denver is a solid rebounding team, but they’ve had periods during each game where being out-rebounded really hurt their chances of taking the lead or Back to the game. .
Jokic and Murray combined for 55 points in the second game, while Michael Porter was the only one to exceed ten points. Jeremi Grant had foul trouble and Gary Harris played poor basketball with just three points and had -14.
Lakers vs Nuggets Fantasy Basketball Angle
LeBron James continues to play like crazy, shooting 57% in the last ten games. It has a 31% usage rate in that span and also averages over 55 fancy points. It’s hard to see him not continue tonight and night, and he’s still one of the best options. In the same position, Jamal Murray’s confidence in his down shot still resides, but the advantage is there. He has averaged 38 fantasy points per game in the last ten games. The shooting guard position leaves much to be desired and it is likely that tomorrow you will look for better options in the Miami-Boston game. Michael Porter is an interesting name from the bench as he has a 22% usage rate and averages 1.08 FPPM over the last ten games.
The big boys are an easy target as you can look at Paul Millsap and Nikola Jokic on the Denver side. Millsap has the potential to pack a line of stats in shorter minutes. Jokic has had some slow starts to the series where he comes to life midway through. Facing a better defense in the Lakers will make it more difficult compared to Utah and Los Angeles. Anthony Davis is the only other stud to average more than 50 fantasy points in the last ten games.
Lakers vs Nuggets betting odds

Both teams have been strong ATSs in their last five games, as Denver is 4-1 while the Lakers are 5-1 in their last six. The bass has also been very favorable for Denver, as they have been 8-2 in the last ten games. Public money is leaning heavily on the Nuggets tonight with 60% of bets covering the spread. There is certainly a favor for them to match the series. As for the ending, the public is also liking it. In the last ten meetings between these two teams, the over has gone 4-5-1 while ATS is split 5-5.
It is the Lakers who have won seven of the last ten games. Denver is technically the home team, but that doesn’t mean much. It’s usually a tough place to play and teams have a hard time playing there, but we’re in Orlando with no fans outside of what’s on the screens. While Denver has rebounded in every other series, this is a tougher task for the best duo in this postseason, Anthony Davis and LeBron James.
