Sprinter Kristina Knott breaks PH record in 100m race

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, August 30) – Filipino-American sprinter Kristina Knott is once again breaking records on the country’s athletic scene.

The track and field star and gold medalist of the 2019 Southeast Asian Games broke the national record for the women’s 100 meter dash after registering 11.27 seconds in her silver medal final at the Drake Blue Oval Showcase in Iowa, United States. during the weekend.

This was confirmed by the Philippine Sports Commission and the Philippine Athletics Association in their social media posts on Sunday.

With this feat, Knott has eclipsed sports legend Lydia de Vega’s 33-year national record of 11.28 seconds in the same event.

During her time at the SEA Games, Knott also broke De Vega’s national record in the women’s 200 meter sprint, as she posted a time of 23.01 seconds at the regional meet.
