Remember when Chris Ross used to rock with the Meralco Bolts and Alex Cabagnot didn’t have long hair with the Petron Blaze Boosters?

From 2010 to 2013, Ross and Cabagnot were not teammates. The San Miguel backcourt duo used to meet on the opposite side of the court.

In an Instagram post, the two SMB guards shared a version of their “I’m Just A Kid” challenge, a trending stunt on TikTok.

The goal is simple: recreate a childhood or flashback photo with Simple Plan’s “I’m Just A Kid” as the background music.

This time, however, Ross and Cabagnot didn’t look too far and simply went back to their younger years at PBA.

The video saw Cabagnot protecting Ross with the current version in his room at the Hotel Quest in Mimosa and the counterpart of the flashback during a certain game between Meralco and Petron (San Miguel).

It was only in October 2013 that Ross was traded to the Beermen in exchange for Denok Miranda.

Ross and Cabagnot, for about four months, helped each other at SMB. But the man known as “The Crunchman” was dispatched to GlobalPort Batang (NorthPort) Dock in February of the following year.

When the 2014 PBA Philippine Cup playoffs began, Cabagnot was traded to San Miguel for Sol Mercado. Since then, Ross and Cabagnot were inseparable and have been teammates for six years.

San Miguel and Meralco, coincidentally, are battling for the semifinal spot in their life-or-death quarter-final match at the 2020 PBA Philippines Cup at the University of Angeles Foundation Cultural and Sports Center at time of writing. this article.
