PANIQUI, TARLAC – Philippine National Police Chief Gen. Debold Sinas said on Tuesday (December 22) that police would ask a 16-year-old girl who took a video of the fatal shooting of a woman and her child here by a policeman testifying. .
“The video is strong evidence,” Sinas told the family of the victims during his visit to the wake of Sonya Gregorio and her son, Frank Anthony.
“I hope the other witnesses help us with the case. We will continue talking to them, ”Sinas said.
Sinas said investigators were already speaking with the teenager’s grandmother to obtain her consent for her granddaughter to testify.
Sinas gave his business card to Florentino Gregorio, husband and father of the victims, and assured that the family was safe.
The policeman, Senior MSgt. Jonel Nuezca, is being held at the Paniqui municipality police station. He had been charged with two counts of murder.
“If you have a problem, send me a text message,” Sinas told Florentino.
Sinas and Brig. General Valeriano De Leon, Director of the Central Luzon Police, handed over white and green envelopes to the victim’s family with cash.
“This is our help and not a payment,” Sinas told Florentino. “The case is already solid, there is evidence.”
“What we are trying to convince is whoever took the video that we will speak with her to strengthen our case,” Sinas said.
“What we really want is justice,” Florentino said in response to Sinas.
