PAGASA raised Tropical Storm Sign No. 2 throughout the northern province of Samar and the northern part of eastern Samar, particularly in the cities of Arteche, Can-avid, Dolores, Jipapad, Maslog, Oras, San Policarpio and Taft .
Also below Signal No. 2 is the northern part of the province of Samar, which encompasses the cities of Gandara, Matuguinao, Pagsanghan, San José, San José de Buan, Sta. Margarita and the city of Calbayog.
The rest of the provinces of Samar Oriental and Samar, Biliran, Masbate, Sorsogon, Albay, Catanduanes, Camarines Sur and Camarines Norte are under Tropical Storm Sign No. 1.
PAGASA also said that Sign No. 1 can be raised Thursday over the Quezon and Marinduque provinces.
Meteorologist Ariel Rojas said Ambo’s strength doubled in the past 24 hours.

Also on Friday, there will be moderate to heavy rains in the CALABARZON, Aurora, Marinduque, Romblon region and the Mindoro provinces.
In the next 24 hours, PAGASA said it expects “Ambo” to be located 100 kilometers east of Juban, Sorsogon.
By Friday night, the tropical storm is expected to be located 60 kilometers east of Infanta, Quezon.
The storm is seen reaching 60 kilometers south southwest of Calayan, Cagayan, on Saturday night, before traveling 410 kilometers northeast of Basco, Batanes, on Sunday night.
“Ambo” is expected to leave the Philippines’ area of responsibility on Monday, PAGASA said.
