The duo of Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving appears to be something special, as they both exploded for 20 points. The game was not pleasant for Golden State, as they were way down early in the game.
It’s safe to say that Durant looks old and Irving remains an impossible player to defend. Neither player had to play more than 25 minutes in the match due to their huge advantage.
While the scoring was one-sided and not in the Warrior’s favor, fans shouldn’t overreact to this 26-point loss.
Why Warriors Fans Shouldn’t Overreact To This Loss
Warriors fans are used to being spoiled, and rightly so in the last half decade. Going from a dynasty to the worst team in the NBA can be stressful for fans. So, I can understand how fans rush back to success.
However, this can take time. This is a very new team with a lot of potential and a lot of pieces. The Warriors now have Stephen Curry back, who played his first game since March and will likely not return to the routine.
With these new pieces, it will take time to build the chemistry. Andrew Wiggins was on the Warriors last season, but he didn’t play many games with Curry. Oubre is a new addition to help replace the Klay Thompson vacuum. James Wiseman is a second overall pick in the last draft, who hasn’t played a basketball game since last year.
Let’s not forget this team’s engine, at Draymond Green, which was out for this one. Even when Green returns, the chemistry will take time. In a shortened offseason with new additions, the Warriors struggled against time as some of their new players also dealt with COVID issues.
