MANILA, Philippines – Davao City Mayor and Presidential daughter Sara Duterte visited five Typhoon Rolly provinces with Senator Imee Marcos on Wednesday.

A photo shared by Marcos’ office showed the senator and Duterte posing for a selfie inside a helicopter, which they used to visit areas to “help residents” and distribute relief items.

Duterte and Marcos first arrived in the city of Legazpi, Albay, around 10 a.m. and headed to the city of Naga, Camarines Sur, according to the senator’s office.

“The Marcos-Duterte tandem also visited Marinduque, Batangas and Quezón,” he added.

It should be remembered that Marcos received the backing of Duterte’s Hugpong ng Pagbabago ((HNP) party during the May 2019 elections.

The mayor’s father, President Rodrigo Duteret, also previously visited the areas devastated by Rolly.

Vice President Leni Robredo also stopped in the typhoon-affected areas to distribute aid to families.

The Philippine National Police reported 25 deaths due to the typhoon attack, while 39 were injured.

Classified as a super typhoon before it hit the Philippine landmass, Rolly made landfall for the first time in Bato City, Catanduanes province, on Sunday, with maximum sustained winds of 225 kilometers (140 miles) per hour.

Rolly left P5.76 billion worth of infrastructure damage, according to the Department of Public Works and Highways. [ac]
