MANILA, Philippines – With many Filipinos losing their jobs due to the pandemic, the Office of the Vice President (OVP) launched an online platform to help workers find job opportunities.
Dubbed the Bayanihanapbuhay program, job seekers can search the sikap.ph website for free jobs.
“We have received many emergency messages from job seekers. When we were doing our transportation services, we had passengers who were doing door-to-door job requests, ”Vice President Leni Robredo said in a statement.
Adult unemployment hit a record 45 percent in July, according to the Social Weather Station. As of Thursday, the online platform hosted 2,796 job postings. Interested companies can upload vacancies and send details to [email protected] —Nikka G. Valenzuela
