The NLEX Road Warriors posted their third straight win after decimating the San Miguel Beermen by 34 points, 124-90, on Friday night at the AUF Sports Arena and Cultural Center.
Michael Miranda led NLEX’s offense, contributing 22 points off the bench on a perfect 8/8 clip shot. Kevin Alas, on the other hand, lost 16 points in the first half, en route to a 19-point, 9-rebound finish.
NLEX started the game hot and blocked every attempt at San Miguel’s return with a barrage of points. They led with just 38 points in the game, enjoying a 113-75 lead midway through the fourth quarter.
Following the huge victory, the Road Warriors are still alive in the quest for the 2020 PBA Philippine Cup playoffs after recording their fourth win against five losses.
Paul Zamar contributed 23 points, the game-high, for the Beermen, who were playing the second game of a back-to-back and needed only one more win to earn a playoff spot. They fell to a 5-4 record with their second loss in a row.
