Months before the Philippines Cup bubble, Gin Kings’ assistant coach was the first to raise the idea of holding a Quarantine Cup, a suggestion that was questioned and even ridiculed on social media.

Under Del Rosario’s proposal, the Quarantine Cup would include a 17-day knockout round and playoffs that would be held under strict health protocols. Before the season, all PBA teams will be tested and those that test negative will be sent to a quarantine facility where training begins.

Del Rosario also proposed a four-game knockout round, seven days a week, to be played at two venues to accelerate the end of the season.

“Even if I didn’t have a direct on Clark’s bubble, I did my best to help as much as I could to make it successful,” he continued.

“Winning the championship was great and is by far the most memorable, but the most important thing about all this is that we can achieve great things if we all work together and that is what happened in this bubble.

The PBA family came close because they all sacrificed and worked together, ”said Del Rosario.
