Letran Knights, defending NCAA senior basketball champions, unveiled their three new commitments Tuesday: Rhenz Abando, Brent Paraiso and Ira Bataller.

All three were drawn from UST’s beleaguered Growling Tigers program, in which five of its players and their head coach left the team after a controversial training bubble at Sorsogon.

“We are proud to add Rhenz Abando, Brent Paraiso and Ira Bataller to our program,” said Letran head coach Bonnie Tan.

He also welcomes the three Alfrancis Chua, Special Assistant to the Rector of Sports Development and current sports director of the San Miguel Corporation.

Tan added that they are happy to host them as UST and Letran are sister schools, while he and Chua are also UST alumni. Both are administered by the Dominican order.

“Their addition is certainly a great boost to our program as they also bring their experiences to our championship core. Our team management, staff and I have also done our homework on how we can easily integrate them into our team.” Tan said. “We are definitely looking forward to working with them once we can get back to the gym. But for now, we will guide them to become true lyricists.”
