MANILA, Philippines —It’s official: Alan Peter Cayetano leaves, Lord Allan Velasco enters.

This occurred after the Chamber ratified the election of Velasco’s president during the day on Tuesday (October 13, 2020) session held before 3 pm.

With Vice President Conrado Estrella III presiding, Majority Vice President Rimpy Bondo proposed a roll call vote to ratify Velasco’s election as president.

This was done in an attempt to remove doubts about the legality of proceedings at the Celebrity Sports Club on Monday where 186 lawmakers “elected” Velasco to the head of the lower house.

After the roll call vote, 186 legislators voted in favor of ratifying Velasco’s election.

On Monday, Cayetano called the proceedings at the Celebrity Sports Club a sham.

This is a developing story.
