The Celtics raised Hayward to questionable on Friday, clearing the way for their star forward to return from a sprained right ankle. According to Wojnarowski, Hayward will go through pregame warm-ups and be active for Game 3, barring any setbacks.
Hayward, 30, missed a month after injuring his ankle on Aug. 17 in Game 1 of Boston’s first-round series against the Philadelphia 76ers. He left the NBA campus to rehab before returning recently.
The Celtics, who are down 2-0 against the Heat, are eager for his return. The 10-year veteran averaged 17.5 points, 6.7 rebounds and 4.1 assists this season.
Game 3 begins at 8:30 pm ET on ESPN.
