Manila, Philippines – The removal of cannabis, or marijuana, from the list of drugs on Schedule IV has limited implications and will not have an immediate impact on the country’s drug control policies and actions, the Dangerous Drugs Board and the Enforcement Agency said. Philippine drugs in a joint statement.
The agencies issued the statement after the United Nations Commission on Narcotic Drugs downgraded its classification of cannabis. The agencies reminded the public that local laws still exist that prohibit the use of marijuana in the Philippines. —PATRICIA DENISE M. CHIU
