Rabiya Mateo reminded everyone to stop calling others ugly as she proudly shared her old yearbook photo, which was taken 11 years ago.

Before publication, the image had already circulated online and some critics quickly took a look at his appearance and speculated that he had undergone plastic surgery.

The newly crowned Miss Universe Philippines 2020 later noted that the image was captured more than a decade ago, according to her post on Instagram Stories yesterday, October 30.

“I still didn’t have my braces. I don’t know how to put on makeup. I don’t know which angle flatters me the most, but I’m still me, ”he said.

Mateo added that he experienced “many things” during that time in his life, like growing up and maturing. She also learned to invest in herself and to practice self-love.

“If there is one thing I want other people to know about me, it is that I am beautiful then and now,” she stated while emphasizing that she now knows more.

The beauty queen urged others to stop calling someone ugly.

“If that’s how you see things and maybe then,” he added, “it’s your soul that needs surgery.” /outside
