Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, May 9) – No new cases have been reported in Quezon province for four days, according to the provincial public information office on Saturday.
The province now has 72 cases of COVID-19 and there has been no addition to the count from May 6 to 9.
As of Saturday, a total of 33 patients have recovered, while seven have succumbed to the viral illness.
Twenty-nine of the patients who contracted the virus come from the city of Lucena.
Meanwhile, the number of suspects under investigation has increased to 1,295, and there are three likely individuals under investigation, according to the province’s PIO.
President Rodrigo Duterte extended the improved community quarantine in Metro Manila and certain provinces, including those in Region IV-A or Calabarzón, until May 15.
Nationwide, the number of COVID-19 deaths has reached the 700 mark, with the total number of cases now at 10,610, according to the Health Department report on Saturday.
Meanwhile, there have been 1,842 recoveries.
