PSL postpones beach volleyball tournament until February 2021

Due to recent inclement weather circumstances, the Philippine Super League has decided to reschedule the PSL Invitational Beach Volleyball Challenge Cup from November 28-30 until mid-February 2021.

The league cited that the integrity of the site, which is within the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA), may be compromised due to typhoons that passed through Luzon in recent days.

“Taking a conservative and proactive stance, Central Luzon, which includes the SBMA industrial zone, may suffer serious damage from severe weather disturbances called ‘Rolly’ and ‘Siony’ days apart over the next several weeks from [Nov. 1]”The league explained in a statement.

He also said that the possible conflict that the avant-garde will face in the staging of the tournament later this month.

“The PSL clearly sensed the serious concern expressed by the same front-line agencies over the calamities at a two-hour coordination conference on Friday night. Officials in attendance spoke of their involvement as avant-garde in alleviating the suffering of thousands of people directly affected in Central Luzon by the wrath of nature and the damage to infrastructure and the interruption of public services. All of these disasters will definitely make it more difficult to manage an already challenging pandemic, “he added.
