MANILA, Philippines – Police Major General José María Ramos, who was among the senior police officers who were injured during a helicopter crash in March, has died.
This was confirmed by Philippine National Police (PNP) spokesman Colonel Ysmael Yu to INQUIRER.net on Tuesday morning.
“The PNP is saddened by this news, on behalf of the CPNP PG in Cascolan, the PNP extends its condolences to the family and the PMA Sinagtala Class of 1986,” Yu said in a text message.
“She passed away last night [He passed away last night]”He added.
Ramos remained in a coma after the helicopter crash on March 5. He was among those who were in critical condition after the accident and had to be transferred to the intensive care unit.
Retired Police General Archie Francisco Gamboa and former PNP spokesman Brig. General Bernard Banac was also among those injured in the incident.
