PNP reorganization: Sinas appoints 23 police officers to new posts

MANILA, Philippines – The Chief of the Philippine National Police (PNP), Gen. Debold Sinas, has appointed 23 police officers to new posts in a major reorganization within the national police force.

The retirement of several senior officials fueled the upward movement of third-level officers, the PNP said in a new report sent to the media on Sunday.

“Police Brigadier General Nolasco Bathan retires today, January 31, while Police Major General Amado Clifton Empiso, former Director of Intelligence, and Police Major General Joel Napoleon Coronel, Director of the Investigation and Detection Group Criminal (CIDG) retire from police service on February 6 and 11, respectively, ”said the PNP.

The PNP said Sinas named Brig. General Luisito Magnaye as the new director of the PNP Health Service, while Police Major General Dennis Agustín was appointed as the PNP’s Director of Intelligence.

China, also designated Brig. Gen. Albert Ignatius Ferro, CIDG as Acting Director.

“We are infusing new blood into the command structure to fill the gap created by the retirement of some senior officials and ensure continuity of command,” Sinas said.
