MANILA, Philippines – The Philippines’ COVID-19 case count reached 441,399 after the Department of Health (DOH) reported 1,574 new infections on Monday.
This increase brought the number of patients with active coronavirus cases to 24,125, according to the DOH case bulletin.
Of this figure, 84.6% have mild symptoms, 6.4% are asymptomatic, 2.9% have severe symptoms, and 5.8% are in critical condition.
Most of the new COVID-19 cases came from the city of Davao with 187 cases, followed by Rizal (96), Rizal (50), Pampanga (80), Quezon City (69) and Pasig City (59).
80 new recoveries were reported, bringing the total number of recovered patients to 408,702.
However, 18 deaths were recorded, bringing the death toll to 8,572.
DOH also noted that nine duplicate cases were removed from the total case count, seven of which were recovered cases.
Additionally, five cases previously labeled as recovered were reclassified as deaths after final validation.
