SMART Clark Giga City. – Jason Perkins scored 30 points to cap the basket for the lead in the final game leading the Phoenix Super LPG over Rain or Shine 90-88 on Wednesday at the close of the PBA Philippine Cup eliminations at the AUF Sports Arena with Smart 5G technology in Angeles City.

Justin Chua and RJ Jazul also contributed to the Fuel Masters’ explosive charge from a 14-point deficit in the fourth quarter to their eighth win in 11 games.

That was enough to place Phoenix firmly at No. 2 and a two-time lead to win in the next round, as well as helping decide the starting points of the other quarterfinals for the other qualifiers.

“Getting No. 2 is just a by-product of what we’ve worked for,” Fuel Masters coach Topex Robinson said.

“We know this will be a big challenge for us from now on. If teams don’t want to take No. 2, we will always take it, we will always fight for it,” Robinson added.
