The Department of Health (DoH) recorded 1,406 new cases of the 2019 coronavirus disease (Covid-19) on Saturday, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 469,005.
Of the 28,883 active cases, 92.8 percent are mild, moderate, and asymptomatic, while 4.8 percent are critical and 2.5 percent are severe.
Bulacan led the provinces and cities with the highest number of new cases with 100, followed by Quezon City with 98, Rizal, 88; Laguna, 73; and Batangas, 69.
The total number of recoveries has risen to 431,055, including 266 new survivors.
Five more people died, increasing the number of victims to 9,067.
Only 10,336 tests that were performed on Christmas Day were received by the DoH of which 680 samples were infected for a positivity rate of 6.6 percent.
Eight of the 176 total laboratories did not submit their data to the Covid-19 Data Repository System (CDRS) of the DoH.
Global Covid-19 cases are close to 80 million, including 1.75 million deaths.
