Now it will be the turn of the Philippine Soccer League training sessions, starting with three clubs on Wednesday at the National Training Center of the Philippine Soccer Federation in Carmona, Cavite.
PFL Commissioner Coco Torre said on the Philippine Sports Writers Association Forum webcast that United City, Kaya-Iloilo and Stallion-Laguna are scheduled to train at the Carmona field with health protocols to be applied. strictly.
Torre added that the training ground has one regulation-size field and three smaller versions that allow all players, although divided into groups, to practice at the same time.
The PFL has also assigned slots for the Azkals and Mendiola FC 1991 development team to train on Thursday, but both clubs are still in the process of addressing some logistical concerns.
Torre hopes that clubs can successfully observe the protocols as a first step toward a possible start to the PFL season next month.
“Our special instruction for players is really due diligence,” said Torre, who joined PFF President Nonong Araneta in the online session.
In the midst of the pandemic, it is important to resume training, the most important thing is to follow the yung instructions because the cooperation of each and every one is vital to what we are trying to achieve ”, added Torre.
A sixth club could also train at Maharlika FC, provided that they obtain approval from the PFF first instance body regarding their application for a club license.
The FIB is deliberating on Maharlika’s request ahead of time, along with the fate of Global FC, which could likely see its license revoked for repeated failures to meet financial obligations.
Araneta said the PFL will implement the Community General Quarantine guidelines first despite Cavite being placed under a more relaxed Modified Community General Quarantine.
“I think we have to be conservative because we just started training. Kung nakapag-training na tayo after two weeks in medyo ok na, then maybe we can modify it according to the protocols approved by the IATF ”, said Araneta.
